I have a question about the back compartment lights in my 2007 PIV…They recently have stopped coming on upon opening the lid. I am figuring that it is a ground problem as I have checked voltage at one of the bulb sockets and am getting a good 12 volts and also getting a good 12 volts on what I guess is the “switch” (not really sure what its proper name is for this) on the underside of the lid…all of this while using the negative post on the cranking battery as the ground. But when I use the hinge bolt as ground and either a bulb socket or the postive cranking battery post as postive with a voltmeter, I get nothing. I even changed the blue ring ground connector on the ground wire that is attached to the hinge bolt. And I also checked the ground panel that is on the inside of the transom using the both the bulb socket and the positive post on the cranking battery for positives and I get a good voltage with each one. So Im not really sure what the problem is???? Where does the other end of this ground wire run/connect to? I tried tracing it back but lose it in a bundle of other wires. As always, thanks for the help!
