Lowrance ?

I have a Lowrance LCX 26C. Today it would not read any depth. When I got home I noticed that the transducer was not pinging. I plugged my other Lowrance graph in and it pings fine so the problem is with my unit. Has anyone else had this problem? The terminal isnt corroded that I can see. I have the ping speed at 100%. This sounds like an issue that will have to be repaired but if that is so, is this unit too old for Lowrance to repair? If it is, is there anybody else that repair graphs?

The 3-D chips can be read by Lowrance units now, IF they are upgraded to software version 3.2, the current upgrade for the operating software for 27-28 and 37-38 units. The upgrade was releaseed March 1, 2008. Be sure to check carefully as to the chip you need for the lake(s) you want. The Platinum chips have a different lake inventory selection than the 2-d chips. If you checked the transducer on another unit, then you have eliminated the puck. only the LCR is remaining and you should contact Lowrance. BCB

A soft reset. I dont remember the key sequence, but Lowrance has a table on their website (do a search for reset in the support section). If that doesnt work you can also try a hard reset, BUT before doing that be sure your way-points and other data are backed up to an SD card (there are deleted during a hard reset).C.

SOFT RESETTurn unit offPress and hold Pages key and PWR key (together)Release both when the USA map appears (will be zoomed out)To test, zoom in as you desire then turn unit off. The next time you turn it on, it should remember your previous szoom setting.HARD RESETSame as above except Zin, Zout and PWR keys are used.See cautyion above before using HARD RESETC.

Reset will not change this. There is a setting that you can go to in the menu to change it to where it will hold the last position. I had to do this with my X-28 when I got my boat this spring. I cant remember the exact menu bar but if you go to the Lowrance board on the BBC they can tell you. That is where I got my info from.
