I sent my unit to the Humminbird factory. They did not find anything wrong so the only thing they done was to down load the latest software information. I took out the boat and it still does the same thing. So the only thing I can think of that it is my transducer. They asked me about sending in my transducer but I advised that the transducer was installed by Basscat and was epoxied in. They said they could not send me a transducer with out checking out the old one. Is there anything I can do. I have a tourney to go to in 9 days. Thanks,
If its the front mounted one, just get another one and mount it on your trolling motor, but if its the one glassed into the sump, I would hook another one up and just put the transducer in the water to see if your glassed one is the problem. At least then you would know and still have time to knock that one loose and mount another. Mike

Do not know where or how much but I believe this is still supposed to be under warranty for now.
The bow unit is glassed in and not accessible, so I would buy or borrow one to try out and see if thats your issue. I was headed to divisionals last year and had an HDS unit go out, I had to buy a spare unit to get me through. I think this is the one you would need–http://fishfinders.factor…mminbird-xtm-9-20-t.html
What are the problems that you are having? I have a 2010 P2 with 788c on front and back that are interlinked together and they will not read the depth all time time. There are times it reads o7 and im in 20 ft of water. the transducers were replaced and still having problems. VERY UPSET with this issue!!!
The unit stays on the same depth no matter what depth I am going into or comming out from. If I set the depth off-set that is the only depth I get on the unit even if I reset the factory defaults it does not change anything. Humminbird said I need to send in the transducer but it is glued to the hull at the factory so I cant send it in to try to cover it under warranty. Seems as many Humminbird units Basscats gets from them they would have shipped me a transducer since nothing was wrong with the unit. Would understand if the boat and unit was a year old or more it would be up to me but I have only had the boat for 8 months. Mine are not inner linked together. My bow unit is not hooked up to the GPS only the console unit is and I do not have any issues with the console unit just the bow unit.
I am confident that if you call customer service at Bass Cat that they will make certain that you get the service that you desire from Humminbird. Corky

Thanks,Highway, I am sending you a PM requesting additional details regarding your set up of the 788c unit and you getting a transducer to test. Thank you,Deborah@ Humminbird
Deborah welcome to the BCB owners board. Great to see you here.
I had the same issues with both a 787 and a 797 I had on my Baycat, they never would read the bottom depth with any consistancy. I sent the 787 back to the factory and they installed some new software which helped somewhat. The best tip I got from someone on the BBC, was to take it off of “auto”mode and set the max depth yourself. Once I did that, both units worked fine.
