2012 Cougar Pumping gas problems

A friend of mine just got a brand new Cougar and when he goes to put gas in the tanks fast it spits it back out, he has to pump it slow to get it to take. Any one else have these problems?

I cant say anything to his exact issue but think about it for a minute and you will realize it has to do with venting. He is pushing lots of fluid in and there is no place for the air to go. I would look to see how the tank is vented and start looking there maybe a bent hose that is kinked or an air way that is blocked…. good luck

Yes, the vent line needs to be shortened slightly as the vent line is trapping a slight amount of fuel in a belly in the hose. It should be taut (tight) up against the underside of the deck and then it will flow. Pretty simple fix on a pretty simple issue that is really frustrating when it happens. BCB
