Looking at Bass Cat Boats

Getting serious about a new boat. I see very few panteras with a 4 stroke Yamaha. Is this not a great set up? Are they more expensive than the Mercury engines?

REGARDLESS of your engine choice, you can not go wrong with a BCB product. Wish I still had the passion for my job that I have for BCB products.Carky

I have only seen a few in person. Never ridden or fished out of one. Everything I have read and looked into about BCB they are very much on the top of my list. I have been saving for a long time, for my dream boat.

I dont think you can go wrong with the 200SHO , I just bet it will have a killer hole shot with a p2,!! As far as basscat, look no further, the best built and riding boats n the market. Unprecedented customer service!! I have an 07 puma and love it!! It has a 225 HO evinrude etec. also ext time you see one in person, go ahead, ask for a ride! Yeah, if things continue like they are now (4 more years of this)I would be interested in how a PII or Margay would be with a 150 yamaha or Merc 4-stroke.Can BCB give an opinion?Thinking about long term dependability rather than hole shot/speed….

I bought my Pantera ll /200 Merc in 1994, Its almost 20yrs old and still going strong. I still get comments about how good it looks. BCB builds one heck of a boat and they stand behind them.you wont go wrong in a CAT!!!!

The Pantera II runs great with a 200 Yamaha 4-stroke SHO and the Mercury 200 Pro XS. The SHO runs approximately $2k more (base price – 2012) on the PII than the Pro XS. This is probably the main reason you see a lot fewer PII models with Mercury engines rather than Yamaha. Mercury and Yamaha are both releasing new warranty promotions so now is a good time to purchase either. There was a promotion on the PII this past spring that gave the Advantage Elite package at no charge (a $3k retail upgrade). This was a smoking deal! There are several of these boats in dealer inventory in the field. Im not sure where you live but you may want to check your local dealer to see if one of these boats are available so you can get more bang for your buck. I live in South west Oregon, so not really any mfg. dealerships close. Economy has killed lots of dealers in the Nor Cal Shasta Lake area. I know of the dealer in Boise area for BCB so need to make trip over there. From the web site they seldom have new boats. I know a guy that just bought a new skeeter not real happy with the boat but loves the 200 SHO. Quiet, no oil, and good on fuel.

I just put a SHO on my PIV. slide up here to western Montana and Ill give you a ride. Ive had a Yam 2 stroke, a Merc efi and an Optimax, and an Etec, so far the SHO is my favorite, but I only have 20 hours on it.Last edited by mike dominick on August 4th, 2012, 2:35 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Thanks for the info Mike. This web site and all who are apart are a big reason I am so hooked on BCB and there service.
