I am looking at the new Lynx and need to know which motor. Mercury Pro XS 250 or the Verado Pro 250?

I would have to go proxs. But from my understanding the verado pushes that rig very well.

I would go Pro XS but I dont have any experience on the Verado

I am interested in the answer to this question as well. I have retired and an in need of getting my retirement boat, which may be the Lynx or Puma. I owned a Puma in the past and loved the boat. The Lynx looks like it could be a good retirement boat. I am interested in performance differences between the Evinrude 250, Mercury Pro XS 250, Mercury Verado 250, or Yamaha 250. As soon as my house sells in Oklahoma City I will be building my retirement house in Temple, Texas with a garage that will fit any Bass Cat boat.

We really like the Verado Pro for the steering. If you were switching out every few years, then the Pro XS version would be our choice, though the Verado is a totally different experience. The 250 SHO is also a good experience, though it is not power steering. The comparison there is to the Pro XS. As for Evinrude, we have not run that combination yet. BCB

I went with the Verado Pro 250. I just think it is a better fit for this boat. The 250 Sho would push this boat well also.

Thank you BCB! I have driven a pontoon with a 200 Verado and the steering is cool! I did not know which would preform best with this hull.

I would probably go with the 250 ProXs. Mainly because it is about $4000 less expensive than the Verado of the same size horsepower. If I didnt have to worry about costs…I go with the Verado.

I have the 350 verado on the Jag. i had a 250 pro xs on a puma. Looking at the lynx at the OI Id recommend the the verado to get the most out of that hull.
