It is definitely possible, though it is more possible that hte aerator pump failed. Try switching the an aerator pump cartridge for a bilge pump cartridge. That will tell you more. Do not determine this by hot wiring the cartridge to a battery, as the amperage controls are in the system, and it will not have the safety net the A-10 might be using to prevent a problem because of a bad cartridge. I have had to replace the touch pad on my 2005 puma twice once last year and the second time two weeks ago . Both times the Bildge pumps stopped working . The guys at Basscat were great . The first time I was on vacation up on lake champlain and called Basscat ,Scott instructed me to switch wires with my pump out and I was able to fish the rest of the week . When I got home a new touchpad was waiting . The time I did the smae thing . I have to complement Basscat .its a piece of cake to replace the touchpad and the fast connects on all pumps also help.

Guess what I need to know is the aerator pump the same as the water in pump on the Pro-Air system. I swapped the pump cartridge/bilge cartridge and had the same results. All the pumps come on when I hit the switches except the aerator. I have determined that I have electricial power coming into the back of the A-10 touch pad and when I turn the aerator off my test light goes off.

What year model and since you have checked the wiring out of the A-Ten, we suspect a loose ground again? Check the terminal strip in the back?Cross run the ground wire of another pump and vice versa from this ground to another pump.See which pump runs, then you have determined which wire is faulty on a connection.Now you can trace that wire and find the error. Wiring is really a very simple process of elimination. Find which wire has no connection, and trace it backwards until you find the find the source. Everyone make it much more difficult than it is. Dont start at the point of origination, work backwards. Good Luck and we hope this helps.BCB

To answer your Q..No…You have a pump for each function…Pro-Air has 2 pumps..1 fresh water “in” and 1 for pump out. Then 2 pumps controlled by A-Ten 1 for aeration and 1 for recirc…..Sherm

Yesterday while fishing a tournament the aerator decided to start working without any warning, never had a bit of problem and it is still working just fine.

Thanks for all your help, my daughters boyfriend is an electrician he is going to give it a look and see what he can trace down. Also, it was nice to finally see several more BassCats on Stillhouse Reservoir yesterday here in Central Tx, previously it was usually mine or a friends. As for you earlier question, my boat is 2000 Pantera Classic DC.

While checking my A-10 touch pad I noticed that the aerator wouldnt come on, I did turn on the switch for the water intake on the Pro-Air system and the pump came on, are these one in the same pumps? If so, is it possible that the switch on the A-10 has gone out?

Could be moisture related on the back of the A Ten connections. Try a little vaseline on the strip tape connections in the rear. They are only less that .10 inch apart on the contacts and the minerals on the contacts can float around with moisture. BCB
