A lot depends on the equipment. 24 or 36 volts, three batteries or four, Type or brand of those batteries,MotorGuide or Minn Kota,No pole, Power Pole or Talon,New brackets or long style,Hydraulic or manual Jackplate,Front LCR at bow,Hamby or no Hamby,Amount of gear stowed,Fuel and oil loadEvery pound makes difference in overall load, it changes on height and performance when they are all added up.

Most always 27 Fury. 26 in the heat of summer. 26 probably better all around.

True what BCB says.My numbers are based on a heavy load.4 Interstate batteriesMinnKotaDual power poles with original style long bracketManual jack plateHambyFull load of gearFull livewells1/2 tank of fueletcSo mine is not setup for speed.I could get by with a 26 fury in summer but my partner weighs a lot, lol.

Speed never once won me a tournament. If your needing that much speed to race to a spot,,I say find another fishing hole. 2009 Puma FTD, 250 HPDI, 26 Fury no plugs any month of the year, and I mean LOADED down will hit 74. Plenty fast for me. Yes blistering the lake running 80 is a rush and I still stretch mine out from time to time. But as I get just a little bit older and when I look at my family Im starting to realize its just not worth putting myself and partners life in jeopardy by running break neck speeds. Set it up to run 75 or so and keep your foot out of the pedal and save some ga$$$$$.my 2 cents worth.

HC often runs 60+miles ONE WAY and ol Darren up there fishes Big Sam Rayburn. Speed matters at that range. I just ran 30+ one way this Pm here in AR and while its taxing on your mind and your right foot that extra 2-3 mph adds up EVERY time you run to make a stop and big time on the run for home. Imagine being 3 miles ahead of someone when You get to first spot. On a good spot thats quite a few casts.Like you Brad Im less enamored all the time but I dont have a body of water that will take me 60 miles one way.Last edited by clownshoes on September 9th, 2013, 2:25 am, edited 2 times in total.C.O.D.
