Drain Plug insert is loose on a 08 Puma. When you try to loosen the drain plug the insert turns. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Yes, silicone would help in the short term, though the center should be replaced also. The drain tube is a compressed aluminum tube that a flare fitting tool is used to form in the boat. tschooler1956, we are not sure where you are located, though a new one is the correction. This is also not common unless they are eventually eaten by the battery gasses and deteriorated in time.

The aluminum insert seems to be in good shape. How diffucult would it be to change to the 09 stainless steel screw in drain plug. Or is this an option?

You could do that fairly easy. Not a major, though we would suggest you contact the production staff to arrange that. We do not suggest this on all boats, though on a 2008 it would be fine. The new drain plug is pretty slick…

What is the phone number to the Production staff? Thanks, I think the new drain plug set up will be the way to go. Shouldnt have to worry about it or corrison for alot of years to come.
