Im looking for your opinions on my boat set up. I just purchased a 2007 Pantera II with a 200 Opti. Im running a 4 blade 25P Trophy Plus. RPMs are at 5650 which is right at the top end for this motor.GPS speed is 67 MPH.Is this the top speed that I can expect from this boat? How would the boat run with a 3 blade prop?Any input is appreciated. Thanks
a friend of mine has same setup and runs a 27 tempest and is 2 1/2 in below pad and runs 71 at 2200 feethope this helps
We like to estimate the speed range from mid 60s to lower 70s and all rigs are different. BCB
Im running 67-68 @ 5690RPM with a 25 Fury. 12 P-II w/ 200 ProXS
BigSmallie,Personally have not run a Trophy on our 2011 PII to compare to. Have run 25 Tempest Plus, 25 Fury, 26 Tempest Plus and a 26 Fury. At this point, prop of choice seems to be a 26 Fury. It is a bit sluggish in the middle of our AL summers with 90% humidity and 90 degree days. Having said this, several questions to consider:1. What part of the country are you in?2. Where is your engine set at in regards to the pad?3. What is your goal–top speed, best hole shot, overall performance.4. How heavy of a load are carrying?5. Is your speed with 2 people and full load vs. solo with 1/4 tank of fuel?Lots of things to consider.
Thanks for the responses, it is really appreciated.Im in southern Ontario so the temps right now are in the 60s during the day. This was full tournament load, full tank, full livewells, 2 – 200 pound guys, all gear. Actually noticed no difference with full or empty livewells. I had it out for a first run with just myself and no gear, 3/4 tank of gas and I found I would hit the same speed 67 and it would start to chine walk, with all the gear and 2 guys Im doing the same speed with just a ever so slight chine. The hole shot is great which I would expect with the four blade. I have discovered as I read on this board that it runs better not trimmed out all the way. Im not a speed freak so good holeshot and overall performance is important. Lake Erie/Niagara River is my home waters so running in the rough stuff happens way more than flat calm waters.I have not moved or measured the jack plate height yet, the guy I bought it from said he left it where the dealership set it up. Do you measure the shaft below the pad when trimmed all the way down? Thanks!
Im getting 70-72.2 with a 2010 PII and 200 XS, with a 25p fury. I hit 73.8, but I had about 10 gallons of fuel total and just me in the boat and it took a lot of input to keep it from falling off the pad. I would keep the 4 blade for rough waters.
Last weekend I got 70.8 loaded with full gas and 2- 200lb guys in a slight chop with cooler morning air temps. Im also running a 25 fury. Ive gotten 73-74 out of this rig unloaded with the same prop as well but 70.8 is the best speed I have gotten loaded thus far. When I looked back at my rooster tail it was about 1/2 way up the cowling.
I just got a 13 P II with 200 ProXS. I can hit 70 pretty easy and still learning to drive at that speed. It came with a 3 blade 26p Fury. Once I learn to control it at that speed I feel like I can easily get another couple more MPH out of it.
i have gotten to 67 with two people and a full tourney load, livewells, and 3/4 tank of gas. i have a 25 Razor. i feel i have at least 2-3 MPH in it, it walks pretty bad and I am just learning how to drive through the walk. I cant see going to a 26 prop though, maybe the fury is a lot different them my razor though.
