This is my first tandem trailer, with brakes. My previous bass boat was a single axle, so there wasnt much to do with it other than the bearrings. Any advice or recommendations as to what maintenance I need to do on the tandem trailier. Thanks!
Make sure you check pad thickness often- check the Allen bolts that hold caliper on- they are under rubber caps- make sure axle crown nut is tight- if you notice any wobble or side to side movement-they are loose-check those tires and check them often!- check brake fluid level – access under black cap on tongue- check brake lines for cracks in rubber. Keep pins for tongue and pivot area lubricated-
DOT 3 brake fluid. I dont know if the 05s were still using leaf springs, but it would be a good idea to check the spring bushings and equalizer bars for play, the trailer will start getting noisy when they are worn.
