put your thinking caps on. 05 Puma been bulletproof. 1st outing of year this morning. started at dock..warmed up to check new thermostats everything fine. reverse away from dock as I shift to forward motor dies.At this point no power at key. No warning horn when turn key to run. No smartcraft. also, and this I think is important, no trim at helm or bow. There is trim at the proxs cowling button. decided to fish using trolling motor. After a bit of time I tried the key again. Warning horn and smartcraft work as well as trim. Start motor , idle away for a minute, motor dies as I trim motor .To recap first die was as I shifted from reverse to forward…second die was as I trimmed down. both times the helm was dead but did seem to reset after some time( over 30 minutes)Work I perfomed this spring: R and R fuel rails, new thermostats and new fuel line from tank switch to motor. the fuel line does thread to the starboard side which is “wire heavy”I concidered faulty kill switch however that shouldnt affect trim. checked for loose wires at ground block seems to me that it must be between battery and helm since trim button on cowling is not affected. The intermittant quality of the problem has me stumped. I dont think there is a resettable fuse between helm and battery. there is a 20 amp resettable fuse but I think that is to the electronics. also new starting battery w/1100 cranking amps fully chargedAny suggestions are welcomeBob OlinskiLast edited by Bobcat on April 22nd, 2012, 5:03 pm, edited 1 time in total.
