ACCIDENT ON BAYOU METO

Has anyone heard about a bad boating accident on Bayou Meto over last weekend? A friend of mine asked because he received a text message with someone who had been run over with an outboard. Thought maybe one of you guys would know. From the looks of the pic this guy needs all the prayers we can give him!thanks,Jon

I friend of mine flipped one last week in Bayou meto with a buddy. If it appears to be a mid 60s larger man under a 16 xpress its my buddy.He taught me how to pour/make my own jigs and is a helluva guy.Hes fine. Talked to him last night- motor didnt hit him or the driver.They were in line with10-12 boats and hit a floater that others somehow missed. Motor kicked up and out and boat hit the bank on the canal and flipped onto my buddy.C.O.D. Jr. III

I could not tell the age but this guy had been cut in several places on his back with an outboard prop. Bayou Meto is an accident waiting to happen in duck season before daylight.

That was probably on the Red River, near Texarkana, and were two brothers, sons of a neighbor of my brothers and Wards folks. One was seriously injured with more than 300 stitches, and how they were rescued im not sure, but very athletic, and fortunate. Jake is the one injured, Trevor (brother) posted pic. They were both thrown off the boat and and Trevors waders filled up, and Jake was floating. boat circled, Trevor saw it coming prompting Jake to dive. The boat hit Jake, veered toward Trevor and he grabbed the boat and killed it somehow. They held on for an hour until rescued(short version), after making one call to their dad and telling where they were and what had transpired, dad called 911 and they found them an hour later.Fortunate both survived, prayers sent to family. Lesson learned im sure about kill switch and PFDs. Word is they want EVERYONE to know what can happen in an instant.

May not think so looking at the photos but he got nailed in the best spot possible or this would have been much worse. You can see how the rib bones and spine cause the blade to grab and bounce versus getting a good dig. As bad as this looks it will look fairly good after stiches. http://www.vrbo.com/297770
