Aerator Issue

We assume you have hot wired the pumps direct to a 12 volt source to make this assumption. The pumps are probably faulty, as the unit in your dash should show a fault signal when they pull too many amps. People bypass the leads from the dash, and the leads and computer may be working as they are supposed to. If they wires do not have voltage coming to them, check the black block on the transom for a loose or broken wire. That is a common issue on an older boat. It is located battery high on the starboard side. The internal dash control will not allow voltage to come out if there is a problem with a part or wire short. There are very few times that the unit itself has been an issue, it is usually the wire, or connection, or pumps. BCB

The rear terminal block is often the source of problems. The fault signal means to us that this particular pump is requiring more amperage than it is designed to require. So the pump is shut down, and a fualt signal will appear. The pump probably needs replacing, though it will run on a direct 12 volt source. The source is not amperage regulated like we are controlling the input voltage in your unit. You can put another pump on this and determine if there is a fault that is in the pump, or if htere is a supply line issue, which means a loose or broken wire. Turn on all the pumps and touch the outer housings to feel for vibrations. The one that doesnt feel like its running is the one that isnt running. If it has been sitting a while, they will sometimes gum up and you can remove the cartridge and spin the vanes with your finger to get it running again. But they are getting to the end of their life around this time.
