Metalflake in hull

I have a guy that told me putting metalflake in his hull added about 400 pounds to his R-boat. Seems excessive to me. Can you chime in BCB?

Not so much anymore with Polyflake……back in the day with Metalflake it was a issue with wieght and Heat…..Brannon

I think one of the other bass boat companies said you save about 50 lbs by not using metal flake.

Actually the weight for poly verses epoxy flakes are the same. They never were metal flake, though called that. This adds about 35 pounds on the outside for a dry hull. BCB

That sounds a little more reasonable. The guy who told you that sounds like one of my buddies that claims to cast “like 300 yds”Hes also always catching 5 pounders in practice.

Yea, it may be his twin brother. Without wanting to challenge the guy, I deferred until I could get some truth. All of the time, I was thinking this is pure bs. He fishes FLW as a non-boater and talks some big game. I have fished in fun against him a couple of years now, and dusted him pretty well. He is always full of excuses. But, when I show up, he starts gunning for me. Kinda tickles me, I am an OFG that likes to put fish in the boat.

The number can be more though it would depend on the colors.

I ALWAYS have 5s & 6″s when I practice.It must be that everyone I fish with in a tournament is a Jinx.I know another guy in town here that “Wacks Em” when by himself, so you see your buddy is not lying to you!

Can you chime in BCB?He is just making excuses because his boat is heavy and slow. “My hull is flake so it adds 400lbs thats why I cant keep up with your Cat. We would be even if I had a gel hull.”
