BCB will reply to your post most likely. Another idea is to go to Bassboatcentral.com Contact Jeremy Lewis. Either make a post there or send him an IM. He goes by JeremyL on bassboatcentral. He just got a new BayCat a month or so ago. He can give you all kinds of info I would guess. I know he really likes his!
I think there is a 2003 model Bay Cat on that board for sale also. Looks very clean.Chet
Here is a link to some information. Phil Addison also has some images on his site of production on one.Bay Cat ProductionBCB
Thanks for all the replies. I am just trying to do my research before I make a decision.
Will Bass Cat ever plan to offer this boat with a T-Top option? I know the console folds down for garage storage and the T-Top would eliminate that. Just wondering. I have a another brand bay boat now and want to switch to the Bay Cat but really like the T-Top and electronics box. Will the Bay Cat transom hold a Yamaha 225 4-Stroke?Thanks.
Yes, it can handle the 225 4 stroke.I dont think they offer a canopy but you can get one made for it. Here is one a buddy of mine had put on his ProMaster (sorry, I couldnt talk him into a Cat he got a good deal on the PM)Here is the pictures of it:Not sure what he paid for it but it was a local DFW company that did it for him.Judd Lasiter
Judd,Have you ridden in a Bay Cat? I have a 195″ center console and it beats me up just running in 2 footers. It has a 25″ transom but still rattles my teeth in rough water. I am very disappointed with the ride. I know how my Puma handles rough stuff but not sure how the Bay Cat would compare. Thanks,Chet
I did have the opportunity to run a BayCat w/ a 250 Yamaha HPDI and while it wasnt rough I was very impressed how that thing eats up boat wakes. The other thing I noticed was it was very trim sensitive, meaning if you have weight in the nose of the boat you could trim but without anything up front you didnt want to trim it up.Keep in mind that the one I ran didnt have a thing in it, so once you loaded it down and then put water in the baitwell it would make a big difference.I could tell a difference in that trim attitude with just having one person sit in front of the console. While being a bass guy I dont think I would to fish from one I was impressed with the way it handled and rode.Judd
Right now there are none in the Schedule for production during that time.
Thanks BCB. Are there any that will be completed that I could look at? If not…Ill just forget it and try to find a Bay Cat close by home to check out.Last edited by billius on March 2nd, 2008, 1:28 am, edited 1 time in total.
We would only expect to see those locally in the water on the lake. There are a couple who might join in at the Invitational, otherwise we do not expect to have one in house.
Thanks again BCB. Im not sure what Ill do about the Bay Cat. Maybe consider another option.
There are a couple in Gonzales LA, and there will be one an individual owns, on the lift at Panther Bay Marina here on Lake Norfork. Though we will not have one in house. BCB UPDATE: We have two on coming order soon, and we are not sure when we will schedule those for production. As mentioned above, those in Gonzales are the closest ones to your local.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on March 3rd, 2008, 3:27 pm, edited 1 time in total.
