Trailer Bow/Roller Support Bent?

I just noticed that on my 2006 trailer, front roller support fixture may be bent to the right?? I did not notice this when I bought it used. I have loaded it on the trailer twice and have not banged anything hard at all while loading. Questions are… I am guessing this is not the normal angle? Has anyone been able to use a “Betsy Bar”, large pipe, etc to help straighten things up without causing damage? If so, how many big boys will it take? Any ideas? In the pic it may be hard to see, but the boat does not sit right in the middle of the top roller. It is more on the left roller. I wouldnt worry about it at all, the keel is dead center of the roller and the winch strap isnt tight. I do see what you are talking about and I would inspect it to verify there are no cracks in the welds cuz it does appear something has hit it pretty hard to one side. Other than that I would just fish Judd Lasiter

yep! Sumptin dun it? not sure what though it has been hit somehow. It wont hurt anything, and those are 3/8″ arms so straightening them might take some extra effort at the ramp. BCB

Was thinking that trying to make it straight again…. may just weaken them more?? If I were to do it, boat will have to be in the water, I would have to be in the boat, so basschaser has the right idea.. just fish!

I used to put mine in the garage too…till the wife said it took up too much space and looked cluttered. So I had to move my lawnmower………… Like they said, looks fine, may weaken if try to bend back, check for cracked welds and fish! Looks like a pretty easy fix to me. Unload the boat. Remove each roller and then pry each arm over 1/2″. I bet it can be done with some vise grips at the top of each arm. That flat bar is going to bend way before those welds will crack or break.

Dont try it with vise grips,,use a 15″ Crescent wrench instead, on the top of the bars, after removing the rollers, then place the pin in and make sure it all lines up ! Or just leave it alone and go fishing ! No telling how this happened but almost looks as if someone tightened the heck outta the winch strap while the tongue was folded open ? D.

Use a plastic sleeve or hose over the arm to protect the finish and then use a chaeater pipe to slowly bend those arms back into place. Judd & DS Brothers??? Only in the Ownership and Religious sense… BCB
