The small hole is stopped up somewhere. Removed the hose and work your way back till you find the obstruction. BCB

TN, remove the tell tale piece and the small hose leading from it into the block. 99% of the time the obstruction will be just inside the plastic tell tale piece or in the short piece of hose. It could be anything from mud to a piece of wood to something as simple as some grass or vegetation, but 10 to 1 it is in there. Post back and let us know what you find out. Have a blessed day!

There is no stream of water coming out of the Tell Tale hole in the motor. I just put a new impeller on it yesterday. No difference. i did remove the hoses of the heads to verify that water is flowing to the top. It slowly comes out at idle, it flows out a small steady stream at 2000 rpms. The temperature of the motor does stay about a quarter of the way on the temp gauge. So it runs normal temps. Is this normal or what do I need to do to fix it. Thanks

2.4 (same as XR4). I believe the 2.5 came out around 1992. the 2.4 was a good motor as is the 2.5…2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
