Been thinking about ordering one for my classic but I have a question or two? I notice in pictures some have cup holders located towards the front while others have them towards the rear of box. Is there an advantage to one over the other? Do they both have storage inside them? Can a person choose which one they want? Is there a price difference? Thanks in advance.
There is only one step box we know of and we think there is an image in the Parts section and there are current images in the brochure pages. There also is the cushion storage box that was standard the year prior to 2011.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on December 17th, 2010, 2:30 pm, edited 1 time in total.
My 08 P II has the cup holders in the front but they stay full of lures.

Mounts to the tank cover, or serves as lid for the center-cooler, and folds forward. There is a gel-coated step that lets you store your throwable cushion inside, with drink holders in the front. There is a black, non-slip rubber pad on it. Mounts to the tank cover and folds forward.I have had both; currently swapped out the fold-down middle seat on my Classic for the gel-coated one, which I bought off of the “Props for Sale” page… I believe the “premium” models use the carpeted box more, and the others (Classic, Sabre, etc) use the gel-coated one…Last edited by Gary Hollander on December 17th, 2010, 1:36 pm, edited 1 time in total.
My 06 P4 carpeted box, the cup holder (bait holders) are in the rear of the step box. The storage lid opens up and to the rear from the front. I really wish mine was reversed. There has been a few times I forgot to snap the strap closed. Lid will fly open doing 50 – 60 mph…. anything lite in the box will go flying and end up in the lake, or one time, the highway. I always tell my partner, “hey this is your job today,” to make sure this is snapped shut before we take off. If it was reversed, it would be simply murphy proof.

Mine snaps in the middle and opens forward. It wont fly open if you forget to snap it. This is a 2011 box.Last edited by Bama96 on December 17th, 2010, 2:58 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Bama,Is the lid hinge, actually the carpet itself, like mine is? Guess I need to get mine recovered with some new carpet. Maybe at the upcoming OI @ MH ???Thanks,
I think it is hinged on the end at the front. I will say it wont open all the way up. It has some resistance. Maybe due to the carpet? It does open enough to get my keys, wallet, and glasses in there. Very handy box and I am glad I have it.
