We believe the 400 receiver does work with either It should be in the front bow flat area. It is screwed in upside down after assembly if BCB did it. It works with any unit it is wired for.

I have several questions, any help would be appreciated. 1) Will the Lowrance LGC 4000 GPS antenna work correctly with both a HDS 5 and a LCX-28C HD? 2) My new to me Cat has a wide angle transducer cable folded under the tolling motor panel on the bow. Is this pod positioned in the front of the hull bottom, or does it go all the way to the rear pod? 3) The current Lowrance 2000 GPS antenna appears to be riveted to the hull, from the bottom. Do I need to drill this out, or is there an easier way to remove this antenna? 4) Does the transducer switch available from Lowrance work with the HDS units? Any help would speed up this whole deal for me, and possibly save me some bucks too. Ive got to get my new cat right. My last Pantera was perfect, just a tad aged. Thanks Again, Allen

I have an HDS 8 but this should still apply……………..Work from the Sonar screen….. Go to Menu on the Sonar screen….. Set the Range to the maximum depth you want bottom return. Frequency should be 200KHz………. Ping Speed at about 15. On the same Menu scroll to Settings……… Then scroll down to Sonar…… I have my Noise reject on Medium and the Surface clarity on Medium……. You may have to set yours a little different as needed…… I also have my unit in the manual mode…….. The fishing Mode is at Shallow.( unless fishing over 100 ft)……. Next scroll down to installation and select your Transducer type. I hope this helps and hasnt confused you or anyone else. The settings can and maybe select at your preference with a little experience.Glynn
