We would leave them as is for service. If you have an issue, then fix the problem and leave it stock. The location was common in the late 90s and early 2000 years. Then times changed and we switched everything back to the more open format, which we started in 88 models of the P2 and Sabre. We eventually tried to get everything away from the bilge we could. Though from the 70s through to the more recent years it was common. The easiest installation was not worrying about service for many back then on mid range boats. Most all of our competition simply covered the bilge and did not worry about the consumer or dealer servicing the unit. Times were different and competition sold boats no matter. We had to compete with those that had less in costs and it was compatible in product. Today servicing them is more important to everyone and folks have learned to look for easier access. We wish it had been that way many years ago. We would all have been happier. BCBLast edited by Bass Cat Boats on January 31st, 2008, 3:05 pm, edited 3 times in total.
