Im watching the Fox News now about this stuff. I knew I recognized the names Ft Hood and Killeen cause you and I were just talking about it.. I hope all of this Mess is figured out and the Army is more serious about Mental Health issues and Terrorist Internet postings…..BrannonYour Signature …
The Military is very serious about the mental health of our troops. This is an unfortunate incident, and as much as we all despise any form of racial profiling, be that Caucasian (white), African American (black), American Indian (native), Asian, German, Middle Eastern, Muslim, European or any form of profiling, incidences like this set our country back decades overnight. This is intense for the folks at Fort Hood, Kileen, Waco, Belton and Harker Heights areas. This struck close to home for many of our Owners there and our Dealer of Cliff and Mary Brown at Texas Boat World (retired military). Many of you have been through Fort Hood recently with the ongoing conflicts. Prayers go out to each and every one there in that area. Just a few months ago an incident on I30 was tragic, and this piles up on top of that. BCB
We are ok here at Hood just shook up. As in the past we will march on with the support of everyones prayers. It just goes to show that no one or place is immune and that we must always look after each other. I will pass the blessings to my fellow soldiers. Thank you and God Bless, Gerald J. Barker Chief Warrant Officer Four US Army, Fort Hood, Texas
Brannon: People are shocked and dismayed, but will adjust. The military takes mental health concerns very seriously, and this event will lead to much more attention being paid to mental health care for our soldiers and veterans. This is a very unfortunate and catastrophic event, and citizens of Central Texas will adjust and move forward. Dealing with a tragedy such as this where lives were taken at an Army base by one wearing the uniform that so many wear proudly is a tough issue for which to adjust. My prayers go out to all family members and persons touched by this tragic event. I, as a citizen of Central Texas, certainly appreciate the kind words and thoughts. Corky
Gerald and Corky, it is good to see you guys post. Gerald I sent you a PM on BBC to make sure you were okay. Our thoughts and prayers are with ALL of you having to deal with this tragedy. MikeJmtfrisco, Texas
Prayers sent to all the soldiers and their families there. My son is at Ft. Benning so I do feel a connection with the Army – he was training on Bradleys at Ft Hood last summer! God Bless you guys there at Ft Hood!
Mike: Thank you very much. Today was one heck of a day with everything that was going on. Many people are hurting over this, but mental health professionals within our community have been quick to volunteer assistance for those impacted. I am very proud of the assistance offered by the VA, military installations, and the civilian community in Central Texas. I appreciate your kind words. I sincerely hope that all on this board support the sacrifices and dangers faced by our men and women in uniform, both on the battlefield and any other place where they perform the vital work that they do. I also hope that we all find the time to thank a veteran for the contributions each of them has made for their country and each of us who enjoy the benefits of being a citizen of these United States. I am going to close now before I start going on and on about patriotism. I appreciate each of you on this board, and I hope all enjoy a great evening in this wonderful land protected by the United States Armed Forces. Good Night, Corky
This is such as sad event. No words can describe what the folks of Fort Hood are feeling right now. To all of the dead and wounded whether military or civilians my heart goes out to all. It should also be noted that this maniacs killing spree was stopped by a female civilian police officer who by the way is recieving high praise from the commanders at Ft Hood. She also took a bullet in an exchange of gunfire with a trained soldier. She ran towards what most people ran from and she put her life on the line. She engaged this maniac and stared death in the face and she prevailed. After she was shot she was able to return fire and end this violent event with four rounds striking the bad guy. She is a hero in my opinion and I am proud of her.-Jason
