Anyone know the weight of a single console Eyra? I havent seen mention of it. Thanks in advance. Tom Claud
The Eyra is still a bit from completion for production and no numbers have been given as the units to this point are assembled prototypes from parts and will weigh just a slight bit more. The market for an Eyra is being confused with that of a Cougar FTD or either Puma. The numbers are strong, though we never intended it to replace the Puma or the Cougar models. BCB
What market exactly are you targetting with the Eyra? I saw it at the Classic show and was impressed, but it looked to be about the same size as my Puma. Is it more of a speed hull? I could see that selling well. I am anxiously awaiting details on performance, storage layout, and price to see if it will be my next rig. Ive never been to the OI but a chance to ride in or drive one would prolly get me there.
I think the anticipated speedy Eyra hull has tremendous potential for a 200HP motor. If the Eyra achieves speed ranges of 69-74 mph then that is more then fast enough to fish any tournament at any level in my opinion. My interest is focused with high interest per BassCats Eyra developement. If the Eyra achieves these benchmarks then BassCat is going to expand a new market for larger fishing platforms with smaller engines. I know I would seriously consider this setup without hesitation regarding resale challenges with a 200HP motor. Just my thoughts!Flyswatter Last edited by Flyswatter on April 2nd, 2010, 1:20 am, edited 2 times in total.
Faster IS better. Gimme a two fitty and Ill be grinnin all the way to the weigh in. Theres nothin bettern passin a guy at 76mph that claims his rigll do 86gps.
See Tom bigger and faster is always better.

You can see similar size dimensions(length/beam/lower h/p choices) on the Nitro Z8 as far as what market is like……except the BC will be lighter and faster, better overall quality/performance. 96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
It does appear that the Eyra will perform very well with a 200 on it, although no one knows for sure. I know that if I was to get one with a 200…I would always be wishing and wondering what it would have been like with the 250 on it. Ill never get an Eyra (I know…never say never ) but if I did, Id definitely get the 250…no question about it.
We think the Eyra is a great model for a 20 boat with a 200 SHO. We saw exceptional fuel mileage on the one we drove. To this point only two people have driven the Eyra. So opinions are just that as no one really knows. Though we know it has a market and we are impressed. The target on the Eyra is for folks who are used to lighter, faster performance hulls who would like a more conventional platform. Also for those who would prefer a 200 on a 20 model that will stretch out there and still have 70 MPH potential. We think this hull will do both. There is even some consideration for a few limited models to have a 300 engine on them. Though that is limited only as the hull with a 250 engine we feel is more than most would want. It is exceptionally hard on acceleration from 20 up to 75. Our concern on the Eyra is that some people will opt for the Eyra instead of the Puma FTD, Puma or Cougar FTD. The ride of the newer 09-10 hull is really good after we tweaked it a bit. We dont want people who are really meant to be in a Puma FTD to decide on an Eyra just because of the eye appeal and it not meet their needs. We know a market exists, though we are going to be cautious that this is the consumer who selects it. In all the 200 will be good and we will have a few out in a couple of months that will be slipping across the water. Then the opinions will be experiences. Rick
