You have a message. Thanks.
Less than a year old Optima Bluetop 34M. See links for details. Got it with my boat and it is to small to run my 200 opti and graphs. Never had any problem with it just need bigger. It would be good for a small boat starting battery.Retail for approx $150, $75 or offer can meet in central ark area.http://www.optimabatteries.com/_media/d … cs/34M.pdf – Battery specs.http://www.optimabatteries.com/_media/p … ealers.pdf – Battery recommendations.
Good battery, I think the sears platinum 31 is better and has better warranty. It should fit in the tray. The way it sounds you are running only 3 batteries for a 36 v troller AND your cranking battery. If so they should probably be all of the same type (AGM, lead, etc) and size (29,31etc) to get optimum performance.
Thanks greenhornet12 yes only 3 batteries. I had a 99 PIII for 12 years with on 3 batteries and it worked out pretty good so I figured a would try it in my 2011 Puma.
I have been running the D31Ms for about 6 years and have never had 1 go bad yet. When not fishing the charger is connected to a timer that runs 1/2 hour a day.
I had 2 of these for the last three years. The good: They are relativly light weight and appear to be rugged. The bad; they dont have a lot of capacity and in running these on windy days they ran out of power about 2/3 of the way through the day about 5 hours worth. And they are not cheap.I now use Delco Voyagers in the 115 AH size they last all day in windy conditions and the price was about $100.00 each, however they are larger and heavier.I do have a long history with the Delcos and in the past have gotten at least 5 years of solid use from a pair. Ther are plenty of batteries out there I just dont think the Optimas are optimum for our uses. If you insist on AGM try the Sears or even Cabelas. In normal flooded cells the Delcos are resonably priced and are still maintenance free.Irv
Thanks Irv thats come useful information. I will look into the Delcos
I have never had any battery hold up in a boat like these. I have two D-31M Optima batteries. Best battery out there and worth the extra money. I ruined 1 the 1st year I had them, did not have the right charger. You must use a battery charger that is designed for or has a setting for gel cell batteries. One of my batteries is 4 years old the other is 5. I expect if I keep this boat I will still have them 3 years from know. I will never buy anything else for my trolling motor.
will the noco charger work
Check out the Sears Platinum 31M batteries. Yes they are heavy but you will never have a problem out of them and they have the best warranty around.
I ran an Optima 31M – it was hard to fit in my 04 cougar battery tray. I did replace with a Sears Platinum and the Sears battery I seem to have less issues with the Lowrance unit on the bow cutting off when both units are onI fished in one of the windest days I have ever fished recently in Feb (wind gusts were 50 mph) and kept the TM on high all day running LW and electronics and finished the day with plenty of power – 3 Sears Platinums running everything.
