Are the blades worth it

Im lookin at gettin some power poles and i was wondering if the blades are worth the extra dough. Im lookin at the 8ft models in the blade and the sportsman 2. Ive heard that having one will only make you want two but ive noticed that kevin short only has 1 it looks like.

For the average person it would not matter. Get the one that is the most reasonable for you at this time.

I would have to say NO the blade is not worth it. If your just getting the 8 foot why not get the cheaper one? I went with the PRO 2. I talked to Rich at Hydrilla gear and he said the motor on the Pro 2/blade is a little quieter then the sportsmen. Also has the smartphone app ability that will be nice for putting it in the garage for me. I think the powder coat finish is a cleaner look next to the shiny pro XS when comparing to the sportsmen 2 flat black. I put on one pole and it does the job. Yes the boat will rotate but it is still held in place in a pretty good current. Mounting one pump to the seat pole seemed to be the easiest way. 2 might be nice but I have other stuff to spend my money on!Jon

I made a mistake anyways i was looking at the pro 2. Ive been thinking of also just buying one pole to try it out and if i wanted two to go go ahead and getting the second one later. Can i do this or would i have to purchase a new pump or harness to do that

I would say if you only buy one you will wish you had 2. If you are in a position to get two I would. One thing no one has mentioned is the ease of install on the blade. I personally have 2 signature series 8ft models. With one you still have to use the trolling motor to keep the boat straight in wind or current. Also when you use them to dock you will still have to use a rope on the bow to secure the boat to the pier in order to keep it from swinging around into other boats or the pier itself. Its my understanding they are not making the signature series in the 8ft model anymore. Hope this helps. I will also say that I dont know how I ever fished without them best invention since the Depth finder.

Yes you could add another pole later. The new poles have wireless controls that sync similar to your garage door opener. The controls are able to control two poles if thats what ya have.

Just put 2 10 ft blades on the baycat and they are really nice and work awsome but unless you go with the 10 ft its what look do you like to the price you pay the pro 2 will do the same job at 8 ft.
