Possibly looking at buying a new Cat

Hello everyone. Im new to this board and relatively new to the bass boat market as I have not needed to purchase a new boat since I bought my Charger in 01. Its a great boat ride powered by a Yammy 200 but Im now thinking I want a new one. I love the ride that Charger provides but from what I can see they seem to have not kept up with the times on everything else. Atleast not as well as a few others. So my question is about this Eyra that Im hearing about and liking a lot as far as they eye test. How does this boat ride in comparrison to a Puma or other elite models of different brands? I know this boat will pin your ears back and make your butt hole water tight, but will it beat you to death in the process? How fast will one of these kittens run out of the box with a SHO 250 thats all stock? I saw in a previous post by BCB that they reached 84 and some change but it seemed the boat was tweaked. Any help is appreciated, thanks Grady.

Grady, Ive heard rumors of 85mph in a Eyra/SHO combo. Youll love a Cat if you get one.Just look through a bunch of topics on this forum and youll see we love our kittys and youll also see why!

You are certainly right. But there does not seem to be as much info on the Eyra I guess due to it being a new model. Im old enough to want the bells and whistles but young enough (34) to want to fly around Lake Jackson like a duck on a junebug. I have noticed there seems to be more happy customers on this owners board then others. Even the recent unhappy fellow was immediately addressed by BCB and are helping him out with his out dated issues. Thats what can really flip a guy like myself from spending 50-60k elseware. Also the boats performance of course.

The recent Eyra running over 84 with a Pro XS was a stock combination. The 250 SHO reaching those speeds was stock also. I think BCB ment to say that average speed in upper 70s not upper 80s with either of the 250s mentioned above.. I havent spent much time in a Charger but I have in most models of BassCats and Im very confident that you will find the ride and performance of any BassCat considered satisfactory… Sherm

Rumor is that 87MPH has been hit with a stock 250 but it was done by the man himself. Not something everyone can, should or would be advised to attempt.
