How do I shut the brakes off on my trailer?

Is there a way to shut the brakes off on my BCB trailer? I was backing up going uphill the other day and had to wedge something in front of the bolt that goes through the brake piston on the sides.

There is a small KEY in the Black Satchel that was provided to the new boat owner. There is a five pin harness on newer brake systems and the fifth pin has to connect to the reverse lights on your vehicle. If you do not have a five pin and are using a four pin, then turn it sideways while backing up and plug the blue wire pin into the brown on your vehicle. This will allow the solenoid to work with the parking lights on and allow you to back up. This is not for towing use, just in necessary situations.

^ yep. Had to do the same when I bought mine until I couldnt get it home & fix my connector. It wasnt hot on the reverse light pin but a little tweaking and all was working.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

Yeah if you do have the 5 pin and the brakes were locking up in reverse then something is wrong.

Got it, when i was backing up i was just moving it in my driveway, i didnt have the lights hooked up, so that makes sense. thanks guys!

Recently bought a new truck which is a 4×4, and had a similar problem when backing up into the driveway. Wondering if the slightly higher ball height might cause this?

^ It shouldnt… Check to make sure the reverse pin on your plug on the truck is hot, I bet its not.I have a Fx4 F150 and dont have any issues (now that my reverse pin is hot when putting it in reverse)13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
