OK I am flummoxed. Two days ago the main power switch on my 2000 cougar would not go off in the off position. All the dashboard, pumps (pump switches work fine but they should be off with main power off) etc. are always on regardless of switch position as is the light on the switch.Thinking I have a bad switch I removed the main power switch. EVERYTHING IS STILL ON AND GETTING POWER!! I have a charger hooked up full time right now to keep the charge up. This is not a great solution. Can anyone or BCB tell me what to do?Thanks Irv

It definitely sounds like you have a wire shorted out and probably burnt through the insulation and into another wire, bypassing your switch. Disconnecting the battery should be your first step, and checking your wiring with a multimeter to find the short.

ischnell, we can not diagnose your issue and we are not aware of what is causing this. The best in house is not on line tonight and was busy today. The other staff is out to IBEX this week and return late tomorrow. Otherwise those of us working the board are pretty general in knowledge. This one we dont know.
