We just got back from our annual Bend camping trip! We had beautiful weather, good fishing, and a new-to-us Cougar–all the ingredients for a great time. I caught my best bass to date at 12.68lbs, and I donated it to the great state of Louisiana. In return, I get a free replica. Heck of a deal! My second oldest son, 8 1/2yrs, also caught his personal best weighing in at 4lbs 10oz. He caught it while learning the finer points of ripping a trap out of grass. Mine was on a Lucky Craft jerk bait in 12ft of water off a point near the mouth of Hurricane. Most of our fish were caught one of the two ways with a few solid fish coming on a watermelon/purple jig deep in the buck brush. The ever falling water and constant frustration of catching way too much buck brush phased this patern out…….at least for me. Good luck to all those headed to the bend and hopefully this will help!! Were already looking forward to next year.
