First off, the Search feature is still not working so this is why I am posting this topic. Im sure this has been covered so I apologize for being redundant.So I anticipate soon buying a Pantera Classic and it has a 5″ 788 in the console. I want to replace this with a 7″ 898 that I already have. Will this fit in the dash or do I need to use a Ram mount and mount on the side? Doesnt look like it will fit in the dash. Thanks. Hi Paul, not sure about the fit but check out this thread, there is some discussion and pics to give you ideas on a console mount. I had a 998 that I ended up mounting on the console of my PII and kept the 788. If the larger unit wont fit and you want to get rid of the 788, I would recommend a Sherms mount. I Agree! If you need to use a mount the Sherms mount is rock solid.Dan

Use the Sherms. Best $ you will spend. Also makes the graph easier to view as it raises the height.

You dont say which year model, so unsure of which dash. I have installed 900 series birds in the Basscat dash that has the place for the DF in the top right side of the console. This dash has the Tach and speedometer on the left side and a round Lowrance flasher (lcd) in the center.
