2015 GAF

Great American Function = GAF- coined by Doug Swann, Sam Rush, Luke DiFulco I believe. Maybe some Gary Gould, maybe some PA.Doug Swann and Luke Difulco and Phil Addison began this regional owners get together some time ago- 2006 or 2005.At first it was a come one come all get together at Luke Difulcos paradise on the Cane River. Luke would graciously arrange spectacular places to stay in Melrose, LAthanks to his efforts and the generosity of other home owners in that area(blakesfav). We would fish the Red most years but if you wanted to fish the Cane instead that was fine too- just bring em to the scales whenever you had enough. We had a tournament of sorts, cheating was strongly encouraged to keep egos in check, there were a few trophies handed out, never any cash, a lot of alcohol mighta been drank, food was beyond imaginable(Luke and Doug and Wayne), and wed watch college football, pour through each others boats, discuss fishing, trade stories and do some Tommy watching til the wee hours. Usually fish Saturday but some folks like Sam showed on Wed, Doug on Thursday, me on Friday night late.It was a get together of generally like minds, good food, huge egos, moderate ethanol intake, some howling, some falling down on driveways, all rooted in a love of this boat brand and its customers.Heck I even took my then 5 year old daughter one weekend as my partner. Shes never been the same since- now an LSU fan, misses Sam Rush as much as anyone, and LOVES Mr. Luke and Mr. Waynes gumbo!As the regional derby format evolved the GAF has become the SE Tx and LA event. Sure there are some of us from AR that come, and some from MS as well. The winner of this event will be invited to fish the BCB Team Championship in the late fall of 2015 to win an expense paid fishing trip with Rick Pierce of BCB! Rick V took it to the house last year with 19 and change if I remember correctly. I saw them on half of their spots so if anyone would like waypoints they are for sale.We would like anyone who would like to fish T Bend to come! Maybe you just want to see some 15s? Or maybe you just want to meet Phil Addison? (LMAO). Just dont drag anything other than a BCB for the event. We dont encourage or allow cheating anymore, we do hand out cash, and the amount of howling has backed off some….But I still wouldnt hit a honkey tonk if your buddy has video capabilities on his cell phone…Stuff gets around you know?
