Evening gents, I have an 89 PII and the pedestal base seems to be chipped, or at least the “ring” the pedestal sits against is. What is the repair for this? Does this model boat use the bushings I see in the BCB Store? Thanks for the help in advance.

We assume this is the front base. If o then we suggest full replacement on those in many cases. The actual part can fatigue over time and the entire assembly can be fractured at the joint. Please look it over good and see, then contact parts for a pedestal, or bushings if thats all you need.

You are correct, it is the front. All I need is a new pedestal? I just want to make sure I ask for the correct part.

Bronze bushing is the part you need, and you may be getting plastic to replace it.

How do I go about getting that one out? That looks involved. Lol.

Split the bushing with a hacksaw blade. I made a home made make shift slide hammer that has work well. Though once it is split 2 ways and it moves a little it will genrally come on out. Can you see how far youre supposed to cut ? I dont want to cut too far.

We just use a jig saw and metal blade. Cut two sides and it slips right out.
