The Sabre FTD we purchased came with a 75lb Tour Edition MG. This is the same motor that was a nightmare on the PII purchased new in 2011. After a 1/2 pack of weather stripping, a 1/2 roll of electricians tape, and some modifications, I am starting to like this motor. While fishing yesterday, notice a little squeak at a certain point when the foot control pedal turns the motor. Is the cable guide pulley on the foot control unit supposed to turn when the cable moves or is it intended to be stationary?Thanks

mine move with cable and i lube them when and if they start to make noise

Ys, the biggest issue in TR motors we often find is the cable lubrication. A little TriFlow on the cables, pulley and moving parts will go a long way to making this smoother. Yes that pulley should move.

How do you lube the cable? Just where it comes in contact with the pulley or the entire thing. If its the entire cable, how, mine is encased in a sleeve.

Cable luber they do make one but i would not take cable off motor unless you have done it before can be a pain for sure. If on a bike no big deal

Actually removing a MG Cable is very easy, just rotate the TM head against the stop fully and the cable loosens and you can unhook it.

Which by the way is how they jump off that pulley in the grass, the grass acts as a stop allowing play in the cable and they fall ofthe pulley as you turn the opposing direction.

You should never lube a cable where it rides on a pulley. Pulleys are designed to move with the cable. If you lube the cable, it may slide in the pulley and wear either component. Lube the pulley bearing only.

OK so if Im not supposed to lube the cable at/on the pulley, do I need to lube the rest of the cable (thats inside the sleeve)?
