I have a couple of questions on how Puma owners deal with the control cable on a motorguide. No matter how I seem to move the head the cable is in a bind and in the way of the pedal or the Hummingbird. Is the cable too long? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, the bracket springs pop loudly when the button is pushed while power is set above 4.

I had same issues several years ago and the pedal cable broke about 9am during a very big tournament which that led me to buy a Minn Kota Fortrex. Best $$$ I have ever spent.

Ive had the motorguide and now have the minnkota. I wouldnt go back for 2 motorguide trolling motors. u know1 for the front and 1 for the back.

Ive owned both I like both. Currently have a minnkota. No real preference. Guess it a preference thing. The biggest difference for the fortrex is it is a little easier to steer2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

Ive always had motorguides on my BCB. Never had an issue with the cable. Mine will tend to lay on the front depth finder, I just am in the habit of moving it over a bit. Not a big deal to me.

I have the 101 and it is much easier to steer especially on high.
