http://www.basscat.com/2016/Cougar_AdvSP_Web.pdfHave yall seen this? Heckuva deal. That boat with a 250 will run. Doug had one with 225 that was incredible.Nice to see a 20 boat in this area price wise brand spanking new as well.C.O.D. Jr. III
That…is an awesome deal!!
While 58K might be a decent price for that package(considering what boats go for now) does a weekend tournament angler really need that much boat to compete? If you can realistically afford 58K for a boat and 40K+ for a vehicle to tow it then more power to you. A boat like that is a tool to be used by the angler looking to make the leap to the pro ranks. If you are really honest with yourself then you would probably see that a substantially cheaper(price wise) boat would suit your needs just fine(plus you would pocket a nice roll of cash).
Beautiful boat, love the colors. Is that a new windshield design? That has to fly with less weight then the FTD but the same power plant.
Tpop I really dont see the point. No one saying u gotta have that boat to compete. Its why BCB offers the full range of hulls and prices in a luxury item. The other thing i would say is to not be surprised when you find out a ton of guys here can/do drop a lot more than 100 on a boat and a truck with no note. I used to have same opinion as you but when u start meeting some of these guys you gonna find some that a number can afford 3 of each and itll surprise you. As you know, the guy with skills to pay the bills typically runs low and fast to avoid detection.58 still a great price in this market for a fully loaded 20 boat.Last edited by clownshoes on August 14th, 2016, 6:32 pm, edited 1 time in total.C.O.D. I acknowledged it was a decent price. My point was that boat is made for one thing(fishing, bass fishing in particular). Other BCB boats do the same thing at substantially lower prices. Ive been in a BassCat since 1990. Owned 2 during that time, still fishing out of my 1997 Sabre.
And you obviously dont wanna be able to run 40-60 miles one way on a large lake or river. To compete at local level where I am theres a lot of winners running long distances in rough water. You aint goin to upper end of Rayburn in a saber like Texas boys do, you aint goin 60 miles one way up MS like MS boys do, you aint goin to upper end of dardy like I do, you aint goin in great lakes and bays like those boys do. Sure on good days you can but they aint gonna reschedule my fun for better conditions. And since its a luxury item, I often only get to fish a few hours and its back to work, that means I wanna go where I wanna go and get there when I wanna get there.Last edited by clownshoes on August 14th, 2016, 6:55 pm, edited 2 times in total.C.O.D. Thats a great looking boat rigged out well at a great price.
While I can appreciate Tpops viewpoint and it is legitimate, I will say that this SP offer is a direct shot at the Bug and Toon brands specials. Knowing the quality of a BassCat and the equipment offered theyre telling the boating world “Were not going away! Before the advent of the 20 foot boat anglers did just fine in 18 and 19 footers. I dont think the waters you mentioned suddenly grew in size or roughness. You go ahead and make your 60 mile runs,I will spend that time with a lure in the water. Kind of funny, you make 60 mile runs to a spot and anglers from that area make 60 mile runs to the area you launched at.
