Dealer meeting Caracal

Would like to hear some numbers on the Caracal with the Evinrude G2. Top end, hole shot and overall performance. Also were did that boat end up after the dealer meeting. Really like the way that boat looked.

I drove the boat. It had a good hole shot, not fantastic but good. (About like my Cougar) I drove it up to 70 and had no trouble doing that. The guy with me got it up to 73. Im not a fan of the G2, not its performance, but its looks. The boat handled extremely well. It was everything I thought it would be. I dont know where it ended up.

It ran on into lower 70s with a solid hole shot. The boat is still at the factory as is the 250 G2 also. They both were impressive and the Yamaha did out perform it some whereas the G2 has bling appeal we feel. You may not like the looks, though some do. We have found that as long as updates are kept up on the new Evinrude products they perform very well.

This latest version of updates seems to have things in order. Earlier engines that were not kept updated were a challenge for those first ones in some cases. The last few Elite events the Evinrude guy has been the “Maytag repairman” it looked like. BCB

Yamaha had to have updates and upgrades as well when they first introduced the SHO. Evinrude is working out the kinks just like any new model of motor, boat out automobile.
