Im looking for the answer to some construction questions, more along the lines of why or why not something is done. Who would be the best person to ask for at the factory? I called today and got an “I dont know” answer, and an offer to come down and go for a tour. But that still wouldnt help with the other questions I have. I still want to know why vs. the alternative. I have been thru the factory before, and enjoyed it. I learned a lot but I dont think it will help for the questions I have. I did mess up in the call and didnt tell him I had been there before. I was kind of taken off guard at the answer/way it was answered. Please dont take this as going after anyone. Im just wanting some answers in regards to construction vs. another company. I know Bass Cat doesnt have all the answers about the other company but Im looking for answers of why somethings done rather than “its better, stronger, etc.” For example: this is why we do it this way…and we didnt go with this since we didnt like x about it. I realize there are many different opinions on how to go about doing things and whats best, most effiecient etc.. I just want to be well informed. Im probably overthinking things, but Im a very detail oriented person and fret over the smallest details.
I bet your question could have easily been answered here.
I agree people here probably could answer most if not all the questions. Im trying to keep brand bashing out of it, also why I was careful not to ask the questions as it would key to which manufacturer it is. I didnt want it to turn into one of those type topics.
Well have you bothered to call up the “other” company and asked them this very detail oriented question? In doing so you would be properly armed to have an intelligent dialogue with anyone that you wished.
Have you watched bass cats construction videos on YouTube? They might answer your questions. They explain why they do things their way in the videos.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
Id just fire away here. It will get reviewed by folks in house who either have answers or will get them.Just say “who dont you do such and such or why do you do such and such”.No harm in comparison. I love large front deck on ranger. they just ride like crap. I love low gunnels on skeeter(but they aint my fancy). I love road armor on trailers! See theres no harm done!Last edited by clownshoes on August 6th, 2015, 3:04 am, edited 1 time in total.C.O.D. Jr. III
Call plant and ask for Rick, Ivan, or Jason. Rick out of office until next week.
There are some answers where the honest answers very few know the right answer. There are all sorts of opinions by sales and marketing staffs in some other companies that really wouldnt know the shoe horn from the shoe. In some cases honesty can be brutal, though it is honesty. Ill find out probably would have been a better answer.Rick is out now and while Stuart might know your question he will be hard to get on the phone. Especially with Rick out of town. At least they didnt create an improper answer. We see dozens of opinions at boats shows and by sales reps that are so far off base as to why without knowing products hand in hand familiar with production its ridiculous. Hardly anyone knows more about it than a limited staff at BCB and getting the right answer might take some digging. They did original testing on OC OptiSpray glass for Owens Corning and have a new Woven Roven prototype coming in now also from OC. The most common that comes to mind easy is the difference is the difference between biaxial glass they use in Yar-Craft and remaining with Woven Roven in Bass Cat for impact resistance. Knitted tri axial or biaxial glasses are not intertwined and thus will totally disintegrate when impacted while Woven Roven is intertwined and will be the very last point of failure. They actually showed those glass differences at a meeting last year showing a competitive brand boat after a very severe impact and a biaxial laminate that was totally destroyed. One came home and one didnt, the biaxial failed totally. This we mention because a competitor is touting that process as better and those at BCB do not feel so where obstructions can be commonly impacted. With Yar-Craft those boats seldom see stumps and rocks and biaxial glass does give a stiffer laminate. There is little difference in both products quality made. Most biaxial glass of Vectorply is made from OC strands. We know this is probably not your question though is an example of a converstion that pops up in comparisons.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on August 6th, 2015, 6:26 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Rick sits down with a team To draw up boat plans. They use “the force”. It is very strong with them. Dont question it just trust it.
