Kudos

Even though this does not involve a Basscat dealer kudos are due where kudos are due. I’d like to share a very positive experience from last week. I was on my annual smallmouth trip in southern Ontario when on Sunday my 2007 250 Pro XS developed a squeal. By Tuesday my engine was hesitating horribly at idle. I was referred to Sand Lake Marine in Elgin Ontario. Fortunately this place was only 20 minutes from where we were staying. I called at 2pm on Tuesday and spoke to Dave Glover. He said get it here and he’d see what he could do. I loaded on the trailer and arrived at his shop at 2:30. It didn’t take long for Dave and his nephew to determine I needed a new air compressor. He checked local stock and found there were 5 in Toronto. His sister called and placed an emergency order and confirmed the part would arrive by 4pm on Wednesday. Dave told me he would do all he could to have my engine repaired on Wednesday if the part actually showed up. I asked what time he was open till on Wednesday. His response was, “I’ll be open until your boat is fixed.” Needless to say I was waiting anxiously all day Wednesday figuring if I didn’t hear anything by 5, I would call him. At 4pm my phone rang. It was Dave’s sister Lisa calling to tell me my boat was ready to be picked up! Are you kidding? 26 hours from my first contact with them my boat is ready to pick up giving me my last 2 days of fishing back saving my vaccation. Service like this is truly an exception and I just wanted to give this man, his sisters and nephew the kudosthey deserve. If you run a Mercury and experience a problem anywhere in southern Ontario I would highly recommend Dave Glover and Sand Lake Marine.
