I took out my Margay for the first time today. It is a prize boat that I put a 150xr6 on. My top speed today was 32mph So something is wrong. It was real hard to get on plane. I hope/believe that maybe my jackplate is just set too high. I leveled my pad in the garage. I then leveled my cav plate on my motor. Then measured from my pad to the floor and the center of my prop to the floor and got 3.6″Is this a good for engine height? Help appreciated!Thanks,Tom

Use a straight edge measure from pad to center of bullet which should be center of hub. Ever boat is different but with that prop should be 3 to 3.5 is a good starting point be sure keep eye on water pressure. intlwaters – I am running a merc 150 4 stroke on my Margay and seeing 65+ with a 25 pitch tempest plus. My prop centerline is 3.75″ below the pad. I would set yours at 4″ below the pad and expect to see vast improvement from your current.

You sure the motor is healthy. That rig should be able to see 60 without any adjustments with a good 150.
