I need advice…..Please

You probably know, but that engine should run 5800-5950 WOT. My last HPDI, I had to change spark plugs 2-3 times a year. I would change them if you havent recently. May try a 25 T1 if you have access to one.

Talons sort of change the point of fulcrum as they increase rotating weight. The weight rotates rearwards holding the bow back as the transom digs, power poles also do this. The universal brackets and position point of the Talons electric motors make the Talons worse. The plugs, engine nor anything else is likely wrong at this time. If you do not downsize the propeller then it could damage the engine lugging it to get hole shot. We think with Talons 2″ of pitch may be required in down pitch. Perhaps even a different propeller style. A 27″ blade can not easily come to a full 26″ efficiently, up is much simpler than down pitch effectively. You may need a 25 Fury, 25 T1 or even a newer FPX or TPX Yamaha propeller.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on April 20th, 2015, 1:25 am, edited 1 time in total.

Was the 27 worked before or after you bought the boat? If the engine is strong and getting plenty of fuel, sounds like you have to much prop. The T1s are hard to beat on an HPDI. Have you been able to run a stock 27T1 that has never been to a prop shop?

The 25 T1 will probably fix you up.

Most guys I know with twin talons have had to drop down to 23-24 pitch prop, this is merc and Evinrude 250
