Topic: Location of speakers in 2014 Puma FTD?

Thinking of adding a Sonic Hub to my cat. I believe BCB installs them as an option at the factory. My question is, where do they mount the speakers at on a factory install? I believe they are in the sidewall of the cockpit area but I sure dont want to drill a hole through the side of my boat. Id like to know the exact safe spot to cut holes. Anyone have any specific pictures they could share showing where their speakers are installed? I would very much appreciate it. BTW, I am connecting this to Simrad NSS8s, which I believe are compatible with the Lowrance SH. If anyone knows different, please let me know. Thanks, Dave

Go back to the home page, into the “Boats” menu, and have a look at the Puma FTD. There are a couple of very good shots of speaker placement from the factory. Last time I had an aftermarket stereo installed in a boat, I took it to an installer who had good experience in cutting big holes like that in fibreglass boats. I could never bring myself to do it on my own. Now I just use a portable bluetooth speaker and my phone if I want a little music.

The Simrad units should integrate with the sonic hub. We dont know location as the dash is our preferred and we have no idea what is in your dash.

Thanks for the responses. I did not notice that on the home page, it does just show some speakers mounted in the cockpit sides. The clearance there cant be very much. There does appear to be an access hole on the left side I could peek in there. I can see that there is both a Simrad and Lowrance branded hub, I assumed either would work with the NSS8s, thanks for confirming. Im not planning on mounting anything in the dash, probably mount the hub unit in the rod locker around where the side-scan module is mounted. Planning on using either bluetooth w/phone or a USB thumbdrive, at least for now not intending to use/mount the dock.
