I decided to install a sonic hub in my PII this weekend. I had been putting it off due to the apprehension of cutting large holes in my boat, but… the wish for tunes won out The control box seemed to fit well in the starboard locker. I need to put some of my rod sleeve looming material on the batch of wires. I ran fused power back to the starting battery and the switched power from the orange wire in the factory Basscat loom. The speaker install was pretty typical to what I have seen in other boats online. Port side speaker installed in the access port hole (after enlarging it)Starboard side speaker installed up higher than others I have seen. Cutting this hole was a bear due to the sheer amount of wiring in this area. I held the wires out of the way with a couple 1×2 wood scraps inserted via the control box hole and preceded very carefully Notes from the install. The sound of the sonic hub is awesome. It will be great to have for long days pre-fishing that involve much side imaging. I used a jig saw and a 32tpi short blade. It worked great, the saw kept the dust to a manageable level. Routing the speaker wire to the port side was interesting. The wire was fished along the starboard side back to the rear chrome vent (removed), then across the battery compartment and too the starboard chrome vent (removed). Another wire was fished from the starboard access hole under passenger console and back to the starboard chrome vent (removed).
