I have an 02 Pantera Classic that have not had a console mount graph of any kind since I have had it. (7 yrs.) Had a Pinpoint on it that I took off immediately as didnt work. Thinking about installing at the console a Lowrance Elite HDI 7, possibly the “chirp” model, but I fish 99 % of time in Calif. Delta tidal waters and fishing is normally shallow, not sure the chirp would be beneficial? Can get it if it would be of benefit but dont want to put out any more $$$$ than necessary – also not sure if a Navionic HotMaps Premium West is needed where I fish most as that is fairly expensive? My understanding is a transom mount would be easier than a bilge transducer setup, so wondering about placement of the combo transducer on the transom? Any one know the approx. best location to place transom mount transducer on this rig? Other than my front Elite 5 which is T/M mounted have zero experience in installing any type transducer on the transom or for that matter in the bilge. Open to suggestions as need some help here?
