I have 03 cougar. I fished tourney yesterday and had to use my livewell for the first time. It would not hold water. I noticed when i turned the valve actuator to hold water it felt stuck. Does my actuator need to be changed? Could i have another issue? How hard is it to change? Thanks in advance

Lotsa folks posted here fixing them in the past. I say either plug it and ride it or pull batts and get in there and see. Depends on when next derby is. At a dealership its a quick fixC.O.D. Jr. III

Link to a picture of control valve located in the bilge…http://www.basscatstore.com/livewellcontrolvalve.aspx if you look at the valve there should be a lever where the cable attaches to it. Have someone work the control knob while you watch the valve in the bilge. The lever on the valve may be catching on something keeping it from closing all the way. When its switched to the closed position try and move it by hand in the same direction of travel to see if it will move a bit more.Last edited by gasaxe on March 8th, 2015, 3:51 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I have always wanted eveything to work in my trucks, boats and ATVs, but the easiest and never-fail thing to do is to use a plug. Thanks for the replies. I know i could just plug it but i bought her brand new and try to keep everything just like it was when i got her. I plan on it being my first and last brand new boat.Last edited by Twolfcoach on March 9th, 2015, 1:46 am, edited 1 time in total.
