BCB, I called parts earlier in the month for the correct seals to go on a 2009 Puma FTD Trailer. I ordered and received them but they are to small, they look like they fit but dont. I even looked the part number up in the FAQs section, (Seal: AD2527-EO is what I received from BCB). My trailer is still on jack stands (did have a tourney this weekend, but I guess Im out) unless, there any place other than BCB that I can cross reference or purchase locally? I have been to every parts store in town (Killeen, Texas) with no luck. Any guidance is appreciated. This is from the FAQ section:Unique Functional Products:Outer Bearing Set: Bearing L44649 – Race L44610Inner Bearing Set: Bearing L68149 – Race L68110Seal: AD2527-EOQuality Running Gear (DDR): Old Trailers Mid 80s and into 90sOuter Bearing Set: Bearing L44649 – Race L44610Inner Bearing Set: Bearing L68149 – Race L68111Seal: 32373 – MFC SealGerald Barker
Buzz parts tomorrow as they may have pulled the wrong seals. They would have to help you on the cross over also.
BCB,The seals that BCB parts and the FAQs recommended are the ones I received, AD2527-EO (stamped on the seals) they do not fit my trailer. I am trying to find an alternative without having to reorder and possibly receiving the wrong seals again. I will call Pete again tomorrow. Has anyone else had an issue with the seals and part numbers? Thanks for the quick response BCB, as always it is appreciated.Gerald
do you have a trailer place near you? take the hub in and see if they can match it up. Got mine from Northern Tool last time. Last edited by Bassdeer on March 30th, 2012, 1:53 am, edited 1 time in total.
If you have acess to a dial caliper or inside/outside mics measure the spindle where the seal runs and measure the hub where the seal goes. Take those measurements to any bearing place and they can cross over the sizes. You may have to put in single lip seals so you can fish the tourny and then put in the double lips when you can get them.Johnny
Those seals should match up as they have not changed on a UFP grease hub that we know of. Time for us to check this out further.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on March 30th, 2012, 4:38 am, edited 1 time in total.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
This seal you need should be a 168255TB Double Lip Grease Seal for 1 3/8″, L68149 trailer wheel bearings, cross referenced to a National# 470460, or a NOK# UD0135E. I have a feeling they sent the 2.33″ OD seals instead of the 2.56″ OD, both have a 1.68″ ID. My old hub and rotor had the smaller seal, but the new ones have the larger seal. If Basscat doesnt have any in stock, try here http://www.pacifictrailers.com/168255TB … 0-UD0135E/ .
I had a huge problem with this myself last year and though Bass Cat had them, I needed something that day. All the local trailer guys just had single lipped seals and nothing at the boat places. Finally figured it out with the help of Cat and Timken folks, and got 470460 Timken seals. Had the local NAPA store order them and had them that day. Good luck.
BCB, Could you forward this info to Pete. He gave me his email but I was on the road.I Called Pete on Friday and apparently the FAQs section for seal part numbers is incorrect for trailers with the torque rod suspension. The seal needed is a double lipped seal very common for 3500lbs axles and can be found at trailer supply companies or NAPA ask for a seal made by National #470460. Seal AD2527-EO WILL NOT WORK it is too small. See below for info. Hope this helps. This is the specs for my trailer, 2009 Puma FTD trailer with torque rod suspension:168255TB Double Lip Grease Seal for 1 3/8″, L68149 trailer wheel bearingsFeatures:•for use with most 3500lb. and 3750lb trailer axles o#84 Spindles, Trailer Buddy S-1377•rubber, double lip design with steel constructionSpecs:•ID = 1.68″•OD = 2.56″•Width = 0.500″Seal Cross-Reference:Transcom #168255TBNational #470460NOK # UD0135ELast edited by barkerg on March 31st, 2012, 5:20 pm, edited 1 time in total.
