Need trolling motor hook up help.

Boat is a 92 PII with the four wires coming from the trolling motor batteries. I had it hooked up for 36v and Im going back to 24V system, so right now I have all 4 wires coming off two batteries and up to the four plug receptacle mounted to the boat, I have positive wires going to A+ and B+ and negative wires going to A- and B- and the plug for the motor Red 24V and Black- for some reason I have no power, cant remember if I rewired the receptacle when I went to 36V. Do I have the receptacle wired right?? Thanks for any help

put the meter on it and Im only getting 12V reading.

If memory serves me right , the T/M male plug is where the busbar is to make it 24 volts , but I could be wrong . — Jones T/M will probably chime in on this one to help you out …….. Hopefully . — Hoss

I got it, so the motor I just pick up only runs when its in the down positions, Ive been trying to get it running when it was in its cradle. I ended up taking two batteries and hooking it up to the T motor when it was still laying down and no go, stood it up to look at the pointer to see if it was on and the dam thing starting running, put everything back the way it was when I started set the motor in the down position and it works.Last edited by Bassdeer on February 9th, 2015, 10:05 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Use that voltmeter with the plug in the socket and you will find where to attach the wires to the trolling motor. The tie bar (buss) inside the plug makes those 2 -12 volt batteries one 24 volt system. The four wires bring 12 volts per pair to the front receptacle.

The position of the motor dont mean diddly,,,,,,,, it should run any position !

Pull the motor back into the boat andonto the bracket..
