i heard they are from 99″ to 102″ if you get a new one you can get a custom narrow trailer if you need one.
My garage opening is 107″ with the trim, 108″ without trim. I have a classic on a tandem axle trailer and have to approach it as an angle to get in. I have to be careful but I CAN do it. Its like threading a needle. My wife says that if I can back the boat in like that I ought to be docking the space shuttle. I think the total width on the trailer is 98″ so if I had a straight shot back I would have 4″+ cushion on each side. My trailer does have a pop axle but I havent used it yet. I could move the rig around by hand and line it up better if I used it, but, what kind of a challenge is that?? I hope I NEVER have to eat my words!! LashCat
Charlie you should have no problem with 110 inches and a straight shot. The P4 is 98 1/2″ from outside to out side fender wheels
The P4 is more like a FULL 100″ outside tire to tire, so will be snug, but doable !
How wide are the Puma, Cougar, P-IV, P-II and Classic on trailer? Garage opening is 110 inches. Thanks, Charlie.
Here is the small CatAnd here is the Jag “Aircraft carrier”
After you view the two videos and you are still not convinced, you should get your (knowledgeable other brand guys) to make the trip to the factory with you so they can see for themselves. You are going to love fishing out of Cat. Best of luck.
What model are you looking at? A big difference is the extra space created by the forward trolling motor pedal.
Your friends have likely never seen a Jaguar or a Caracal. You are in for a treat when you see one in person. Go to the factory and see for yourself. Left my Skeeter to move into a Jaguar and never looked back. Except of course to see my buddy dancing around on the back deck when he is not up front with me! Both of these boats will make you a believer in front decks that will more than meet your needs.
Those wide front decks are so overrated! I guess Im missing the point somewhere. And I would almost bet those wide front decks are not much wider than a comparable sized Bass Cat where you spend 99% of your time fishing!
Came from a ZX250 and prior ZX 225. Those boats can hold about 2 more rods comfortably. You wont miss the width or the rods once you get in a cat. Trust me
I also came from a ZX225 to a Cat. Like everyone has said above, you wont regret switching to a Cat
I am looking at either a Puma FTD or Cougar FTD….I am currently in a Skeeter ZX202c (20 2″)
Our take on this… Most all Bass Cat owners know we do everything with thought and method. Decks are no different and we do prefer the Puma FTD and Cougar FTD deck sizes for fishing. The forward position is a benefit on the deck position. Your team partner will always step on rods no matter the beam as they move to the gunnel to fish. No partner stands in the middle up front and s they step to the outside they will tippy toe on the rods. Plus they are always behind you so the rods are open there. The frontal pedal position of a BCB allows you to easily fish either side and the rods are behind you. The handles are forwards and they are not in the way as you place the rods just outward. Roll casting a spinner bait or pitching is much easier as you never dodge the trolling motor head. It is simply out of your way. A BCB angler never gives it thought until they climb into another brand. It all comes back then. We have spent time in several Jaguar hulls, and some in a Caracal, which are massive decks, and they fish fine and spacious if your open water fishing. Often open water fishing your on the front and our partner is on the back deck. If your fishing the frontal position of a Jaguar it fishes only slightly wider than the Puma FTD. The few inches per side is not very noticeable. The competitive wider decks with more rearwards trolling motor pedal locations dont fish well when you have tighter quarters. Techniques like flipping and pitching can be hampered by rod arc on some boats. Of course if your planning on having two kids on the front deck with you that is another challenge entirely.
