After i put the boat in garage,i unhook the strap from the bow eye.Read this somewhere..I wonder if there are any other useful tips yall can give an old coot…Seems a lil slow on the board….Im not the board police, but we do need to update our profiles..Probably would make ole Sam happy… I do have one big Question tho…..Who is the genius that answers for Basscat on this board..That be one smart youngun….

Yours never comes out of the garage, so dont worry about un hooking the bow strap, its an 07 model and if it was gonna warp to the bunks its already done it ! There are several who moderate on the BCB owners boards, all in house now I believe.They aint gonna update their profiles,,,,, they dont care about getting help when they need something apparently. I got to where ill do my best to help, but if theyre profile isnt complete I just ignore now.Genius is determined by IQ, Knowledge is determined by experience !

I dont loosen the bow strap unless storing for the long cold winter when I unhook all of them. Just saw something on TV about not over tightening the stern straps at all times as that it could warp the hull. Maybe thats only for Nitros…… As far as who at BCB answers questions, from reading many responses over the years and the variety of styles of writing Im betting there are several who answer questions and the assignment to monitor the board moves around probably daily. And Im also betting some of them are younguns like me (58 is young isnt it?)I agree that folks really need to update their profiles. Some new participants might be reluctant to put to much info on internet (a wise decision) but info about the state you live in and the region of that state, where you fish and what you fish for (SM or LM), and the year model motor of boat you have should be safe to post here. It also helps us answer your questions or offer meet up with you to help out when appropriate. Ive met some great folks this way.Anyway, looking forward to seeing green lawns again someday instead of this ugly white s$#t.

I always undo the bow strap. I have to. It wont fit in the garage without the tongue open.

^^ DIttoI do every time, BUT, I have a swing tongue, and if youre going to open it up (I have to or it wont fit) then you must release the strap….13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

I undo the bow strap on my Cougar every time I put it in the garage. Ive done that with every bass boat Ive had since the 70s. I dont know if its necessary, but its just second nature to me now.

Ive always released tention on bow strap when in garage. Seems less stress on bow eye and trailer pivot point when at rest. May not matter but just a mind thing to me I guess. I also lower motor to level and prop open bilge hatch. CP

Ive always left mine hooked up . — That way I dont forget to hook it up when I take off with it . — It also AMAZES me to see how many people dont even tie down the transom . — Just a bit rough on the whole rig to let it bounce along the highways , IMHO . — Make it one solid unit and let the suspension on the trailer do its job . — Mark
