This post is to light the fire for new and future Caracal owners. I have had the privilege of driving all cats in the BassCat family as well as just about every boat on the market. This boat is so impressive that trying to describe it in words will not due it justice. The ultimate proof will come from a test drive. The following stats were achieved on the Coosa River last Friday. After break in, I started experimenting with and adjusting my Atlas hydraulic plate, the boat ran on first pass at 78.2 mph. And yes, I do have it on video. I lowered the plate and on the second pass, I was at 78.8 mph. I know this may seem hard to believe, but I truly feel I will register 79 + mph with the right adjustments. The boat is a hand full at this top speed, but it was under control, just took little extra effort n the driving. The boat load was 10 rods , 9 Plano tackle trays, three Marks Outdoors bags full of plastics, 30 gallons of gas, 2 Power Poles and myself… all 130 pounds of me.Saturday morning, I fished a tournament on the Coosa. With 2 people totaling 350 pounds, 16 rods, my same tackle, partners 25 pounds of new tackle, 10 more gallons of gas which put me above 3/4 of a tank, and live wells full, the boat registered 75.4 mph. This is a little taste of what I have done with my new toy. I will keep you posted when I get more time to play and change props.
