I am really needing help and need to decide. Can some of you new owners please give personal view now you have had your boat out some. Back compartments being one with storage and weird shaped big pointed pox and other side being a tray u can put in for storage. Does this bother u not being uniform? Also what about live wells not being centered between the seats? How is the rod storage being different in design and not on outside then having all those other compartments the way they are? Do they fit tackle trays real neat and organized? What about day box that has the strap holder for rods attached tonit? I love that box and can see it real handy. What about net storage and ruler and plier storage built on passenger side of front deck? What about rod box like Phoenix next to passenger seat instead of just place for rods to lay instead of putting seat closer to side of boat does that affect the feeling of width. I see where the passenger console if in illuminates the one box stepping on front deck plus it doesnt go to side of boat and little weird looking and less room between consoles from pics. I love the width looks of boat but these are all real wierd things about the boat that nobody has ever done. Like to hear from someone that has one to get real view of what they think about all these things and give opinion on goods or bads.
so.. being a new Caracal owner.. let me see if I can help you. .. but please note, these are my personal opinions and why I made my decision to get one.Uniform is all matter of perspective my friend.. To me, these odd shapes are consuming the space most effectively .. there is no wasted space.. you can put tools, jumper cables, spare prop, etc… pumps for power poles, etc.. in all of the space back there. the removable tray allows you to remove it and wash it.. so I like that option. The live wells not being center.. is again an personal observation.. They are not centered to accommodate for the passenger rod locker.. which is a feature I love. I would much rather have the rods locked and secure instead of banging around against my gel coat like all of the “other” “uniformed” boats.. just sayin.. :-)Both side are still very accessible and you can rest your knees in the seats while getting your fish out..The day box is just fine where it is.. even with the rod strap going to it.. nothing gets in the way.. chances are VERY HIGH, that if you ever needed anything out of that day box you will not have rods strapped in.. you will be fixing or baiting up.. so I think that is fine, plus it is a long strap which means you can also leave more sticks on deck and strap them in with out having to move them around..or kicking them off the boat. Also, I use bags to hold most of my soft plastic.. either 2 gallon ziploc bags or laundry bags for washing delicates.. both are cheap, sea through, and saves me a lot of DEAD space by only taking the space they truly need instead of hard boxes hold lots of air… and clumsy..The nest storage is PERFECT!! net is out of the way, easily accessible if needing it in a hurry to land a fish, and then easily back out of the way again. I am very anal about keeping my boat organized and not having a lot of things laying around…. so having that right there without having to stand on it, or open a list to pull it out.. just better for me.Hope this helps.. I will be posting pics of mine tomorrow once I give her a bath.. got some road spit on her bring her home. Mo
Let me respond this way. I ordered my Caracal without ever seeing one. Not a picture, not an idea of layout , NADA ! Im elated with everything on the boat except the finish of the net holder( which is easily customized), so get off the fence! The boat is huge, performs great, and fishes better ! It is a grand slam !
The livewells on my Cougar FTD are not centered between the seats. The passenger seat is slid over to accommodate the passenger rod storage. Doesnt bother me in the least.
Just one note, the Jaguar in 1996 model year was the first offset rod box we know of. That was not a “uniform” or even distribution to maximize the space and allow everything to fit as designed. BCB
Thanks guys. It is my last boat I get to buy and a big investment so want to make sure. I love the boat. None of these things bother me but knew that ones that actually have them would weigh in on actual seeing and using. Im going to look at one hopefully Monday in person.

They have one in Shawnee Ok at dealer. Not the one I want not my color but I can climb on it and look it over. The one Sherm just got in is exactly what Id want!! Posted my mobile because he said he is closed till Jan. Heard he is good as they get and he could help me probably more than anyone.
If one was ordered first couple weeks of Jan how long till delivery?
That all depends. The backlog can move up very fast the next month. One week the coming month can produce three weeks or more of orders. The backlog was intended to be totally depleted by January production and orders outpaced production. Thus we have a little bit of production to build beginning January 5th. They begin firing up some and by February 1st the backlog will be hard to keep up with. They wont catch up till July.
